This is a great kettle! The quality of manufacturing is top notch. I appreciate the optional silicone lid tab and handle grip and indentations at the base of the handles to keep them locked up or down. This kettle also comes with a nice mesh bag that's similar to other titanium products Valtcan sells, but this one has a wire base to keep the bag spread open and thus easier to put the kettle into. It's details like these where it shows this kettle was designed thoughtfully.
At 1000ml, this kettle will take the contents of your typical Nalgene bottle. The kettle's wider diameter means it boils faster than a pot would due to more liquid making contact with your heat source. While a pot may be more versatile in some circumstances, I consider this kettle a fine addition to my mess gear. It's still small enough to stow in my pack and I can store things like food or an alcohol stove kit inside of it when on the trail.
I will add that its height prevents me from nesting my 450ml cup inside of it, but I also have a 750ml pot and stow my cup in there. That way I can multitask with all three over my fire or stove.
Another point to consider is cost and size. It's not the smallest and most packable kettle out there. Nor is it the cheapest. These are just factors you have to consider when picking a kettle to use. For me, the price and size are agreeable to me.
I'm very pleased with this kettle and don't regret my purchase!
