Everyday cleaning
For normal use, titanium cleans like any good metal pan, only easier because there is no coating to protect. Let the pan cool slightly, then wash with warm water, dish soap, and a sponge or brush. The smooth, heat-treated surface releases most food readily, so stuck-on bits are rare.
When something does stick, the trick is heat and water, not force. Add a little water to the warm pan and bring it to a brief simmer to loosen residue, then wipe it away. Because solid titanium has no nonstick or ceramic layer to scratch, you can use a stainless scrubber, a green scouring pad, or even a bit of sand on the trail without damaging anything, the surface is the metal itself, all the way through. It is also dishwasher safe, though hand washing is quick enough that most owners skip the dishwasher.
Dealing with sticking
Titanium is stick-resistant, not nonstick in the Teflon sense, and that distinction is worth understanding. Food sticks to any bare-metal pan that is too hot, too dry, or disturbed too early. The fixes are the same techniques chefs use on stainless and carbon steel:
Preheat, then add fat. Let the pan warm, add oil or butter, let it shimmer, then add food. A properly preheated, lightly oiled titanium surface releases eggs, fish, and proteins cleanly.
Do not crowd or poke. Let proteins form a sear and release on their own; they will lift freely when ready. Moving them too soon is what tears and sticks.
Manage heat. Titanium responds quickly, so medium heat is usually plenty. Scorching heat is the most common cause of sticking and the easiest to fix.

Heat tint: normal, harmless, and reversible
Cook over a flame or high heat and titanium may develop faint gold, blue, or bronze tones. This is heat tint, and it is purely cosmetic. It happens because titanium's thin surface oxide layer changes thickness with heat and refracts light into colors, like the colors on a tempered blade. It does not affect performance, safety, or the inertness of the metal, and many owners come to like the look as a record of use.
If you prefer the original brushed silver, heat tint comes off easily because you are only touching the surface oxide, not a coating. A mild abrasive, such as a non-scratch pad with a little water, a paste of baking soda, or a titanium-safe metal polish, will restore the finish with light rubbing. You cannot do this with coated cookware, where abrasion destroys the surface; with solid titanium it simply refreshes it.
The safe-tools list
Because there is no coating, the list of what you can use is refreshingly long: metal utensils, stainless and brass scrubbers, scouring pads, baking soda, vinegar, dishwashers, and high heat are all fine. The short list of what to avoid is mostly common sense: do not use harsh, unknown industrial chemicals, and do not leave any pan empty over max heat indefinitely. That is about it.

This is the part that surprises people coming from nonstick or cast iron.
