Steam Pure
Steam Carries Flavor. Make Sure It Carries Nothing Else.
Steaming is the gentlest way to cook: food never touches the water, never scorches, and keeps its texture, moisture, and nutrients. But steam also picks up whatever the metal under it is doing. Coatings off-gas, aluminum reacts with acids, and steel can leave a metallic edge on delicate fish. This is the first full-titanium steamer pot: pot, basket, vented lid, and handles all in Grade 1 titanium, biologically inert. Your bao taste like bao. Your fish tastes like fish. Nothing else.

The Material Argument
Half the Weight of Stainless. None of the Chemistry.
Grade 1 commercially pure titanium is 99.5%+ titanium: no alloying metals, no PFAS, no PTFE, no aluminum, no coating to chip, peel, or leach into a cloud of steam. It is also about 40% lighter than stainless steel at the same strength, which is why this full 2.8L kit weighs less than half of a comparable stainless steamer.
Pot, basket, and lid. A 2.8L stainless set runs 1,200 to 1,500 g.
Feeds 2 to 4: a full meal, or 20 to 24 dumplings a batch.
The cooking surface is the titanium itself. Metal utensils welcome.
Honest note: heated titanium develops a patina of golds, blues, and purples, especially on the base. It is a thin oxide layer, purely cosmetic, and every pot earns its own pattern. If you want cookware that looks factory-new forever, this is not that. It is the sign of a steamer that works for a living.
Clean Cooking
The Gentlest Method, in the Cleanest Metal
Build the cloud of steam, drop the heat to low, and let moist heat do the work: vegetables keep their color and nutrients, fish stays tender, dumplings come out perfect. Nothing reactive touches your food at any point, and cleanup is a dishwasher cycle. No seasoning, no curing, no maintenance ritual. Ready out of the box for decades.
One Good Object
Four Pieces of Cookware in One
Basket in, it steams. Basket out, the pot is a 2.8L stockpot for pasta and stocks. The basket alone is a colander and a serving dish that goes straight to the table. One purchase that replaces a steamer, a stockpot, a colander, and the bamboo basket you throw away every year. Decide once, and it sits on the counter looking like it belongs there.

The Conversion
Lift the Basket, Change the Tool
The steam basket seats on the pot's interior shoulder, above the waterline, and lifts straight out. That one motion converts steamer to stockpot in seconds, and it works on any heat source you own: gas, electric, induction, camp stove, or open flame. The wire side handles lock out rigid for a confident two-handed lift and fold flush when it is time to put it away, or pack it out.

Failure Analysis
Every Steamer Fails Somewhere. Find the Failure Mode.
Steamers fail quietly: a coating that ends up in your food, a metal that edits the flavor, a basket that molds in the cupboard. Each failure mode was removed from this design at the material stage.
| Component | What usually fails | This steamer |
|---|---|---|
| Nonstick coating | Chips, peels, off-gasses into the steam | No coating exists, the surface is solid titanium |
| Aluminum body | Reacts with acidic foods and sauces | Biologically inert Grade 1 titanium, reacts with nothing |
| Stainless steel | Alloy metals leave a faint edge on delicate fish | Zero flavor transfer, steam carries only the food |
| Bamboo basket | Absorbs flavors, molds, wears out yearly | Titanium basket with no expiration date, dishwasher safe |
| Your wrists | 1,200 to 1,500 g of stainless, plus water | 511 g complete, half the carry before you add dinner |
| The stovetop | Sealed lids rattle and boil over | Vented lid bleeds steam, no pressure, no boil-overs |

How It Works
Dinner for Four in 3 Steps
Water
About an inch in the pot, below the basket line. Longer cooks get more. When in doubt, add more water.
Basket and lid
The basket seats on the interior shoulder, clear of the water. Load the food, cover with the vented lid.
Steam low
Bring it up on medium-high until steam wisps from the vents, then drop to low. Gentle steam cooks food moister and more tender than a hard boil.
Before you order: this is a vented steamer, not a pressure cooker; the lid breathes by design. Heated titanium will develop gold, blue, and purple patina, cosmetic only. Over a campfire, the wire handles get hot: lift with a glove or towel and keep handles turned from the flame. The one rule of steaming still applies: never let the water run dry mid-cook.
