Look at the bail bracket. A stamped titanium plate, riveted through the wall, with the wire bail seated in a pivot you can see and service. Both brackets sit on the sides of the pot, the left one directly above the side handle mount, so the bail and the handle swing in the same plane. The side handle folds flat on a riveted channel. The lid handle locks upright so you can lift it with a gloved hand. No plastic, no welds hiding porosity, no coating waiting to flake into your food. It is built the way you would build it.

On the old pot the bail pivoted across the front of the body. Fold it down and the wire lay over the face, straight across the part of the rim you would actually put your mouth on. We moved both pivot brackets onto the sides, directly above the side handle mount. The bail and the side handle now swing in the same plane, which means they fold down flat against the two sides and leave the front face and the full rim completely clear. What changed in the new version?
The bail pivot brackets moved onto the sides of the pot, directly above the side handle mount. The bail and the side handle now swing in the same plane, so both fold flat against the sides instead of the bail lying across the front face and the rim. The pot, the wall thickness, the capacity, and the lid are unchanged. What changed is that you can now drink from the rim without a handle in the way.
Can I really put it straight into a campfire?
Yes. Bare Grade 1 titanium with no coating and no plastic anywhere on the pot. Hang it from the bail over flames, set it on a grate, or nest the base in coals. Expect heat coloring on the outside over time. That patina is cosmetic and most owners consider it earned.
Will it ever rust, leach, or change the taste of food?
No. Titanium is biologically inert. It cannot rust, it does not leach into acidic food the way aluminum can, and it carries zero taste from one meal to the next. Last night's chili has no vote in this morning's coffee.
How is it different from cheaper titanium pots?
Wall thickness. We roll the 900 at 0.4mm, so it does not flex or oil-can when you squeeze it. Buyers kept telling us it felt sturdier than competing pots, so we leaned into exactly that. The cost is a few grams. The payoff is a pot that keeps its shape for decades.
What actually fits inside it?
The Valtcan 32oz wide-mouth titanium bottle nests fully inside. Alternatively, the Valtcan 450ml cup plus a standard 110g fuel canister. The included mesh bag holds the whole nested kit.
Can I drink from it without burning myself?
Yes, with one minute of patience. The aligned-handle redesign folds the bail and pot handles down together so nothing blocks your mouth at the rim, and the rim edge is smoothed for drinking. Titanium sheds heat quickly, so the rim is comfortable shortly after a boil while the contents stay hot.
Does it work on a home stove?
It works over any flame: gas ranges, camp canister stoves, alcohol burners, and open fire. It is not designed for induction cooktops. At your desk it simply becomes a 30oz titanium mug, and it is dishwasher safe.
How do I measure water without tools?
Measurement marks are etched into the interior wall. Ramen, rice, oatmeal, and pour-over ratios without carrying a measuring cup.
What if I dent it or wear it out?
You will most likely do neither. Drop it, burn it, freeze it: titanium does not care, and there is no coating to wear out. This is a buy-it-for-life piece, which is exactly why it costs more than aluminum.
Hi. I spent a LOT of time researching the 900ml mug before settling on the Valtcan brand. I could only find two brands that had Nalgene-nestable 900ml mug’s at the time of my purchase. It nests on the Nalgene stainless bottle, I can squeeze a toothpick in the gap. It nests on a Nalgene plastic bottle, I can push the tooth pick all the way in the gap. And a pic of my 900ml & 750ml on the Nalgene bottle, there will be a review on the 750ml separately. The 900ml has ml markings but unfortunately NO ounce markings inside. The lid handle retainer is tight and can keep the handle UP for you. The lid seems to fits the mug loosely. The bail is not removable, and it will stay UP on its own. The bail is in-line with the handle, thus out of your way for drinking. The bail hinge points have little tabs on one side that will keep the bail up-perpendicular to the mug, allowing easier grasping with a stick or something. Flipped to the other side the bail will lay down against the side of the mug, this seems to be a nice feature. The handle hinges are not snug so the handles flop around freely. It comes with a decent dark mesh draw string bag. The biggest negative for me is the lack of ounce markings, but the other brand I was comparing it to didn't have them either. This is intended to be my cooking mug and the 750ml will be my drinking cup. 4-stars, mostly for lack of ounce markings but I'm still content with my purchase.

Super great addition. Was looking for a pot to add to my pack, but was concerned about having to lug around heavy or bulky gear. That was until I found the Valtcan titanium pot. It’s size and weight are perfect. I was able to fit it in my molle camel pack Nalgene bottle holder. The Nalgene 32 oz. bottle fits inside the pot and the pot lid rest on top of the bottle. With the bottle holder zipped up, you have a super secure and space saving set up. Having a pot to cook, purify water, or anything else is amazing. This is a must have.
What I received from Valtcan were very nice pieces of grade one titanium, and now I realize when I look at these items online, it’s best for me to make sure that I order larger sizes so for example, instead of ordering a pot with 900 ML‘s of volume it’s going to be 1.5 or 1.8 really I would prefer even more.
But the quality is there and I can make use of the pieces I received.

I got the pot because it’s taller and would heat water faster. It probably does but it’s not too stable on my MSR Pocket Rocket stove. My other stove, a Svea 123 probably would be the same. I do heat water on a campfire some using a titanium 3 prong grill. This too might be unstable. I have the Valtcan mesh grill too. I’m building less campfires now so I returned the pot. It’s great quality but not what I need now.
Found this looking for an alternative to aluminum. Great price, well thought out design, just the right size. So light I had to put a rock in it to keep it from floating away. Obviously an exaggeration, however what little weight and bulk it has, is worth it's spot in my panniers. Barring any stupid accidents, it'll get passed down with my SVEA. Not cheap, but reasonable, I've already bought another one to gift.
It does not look like 30 oz. More like 24oz. I did not measure. I do have measuring cups but; I’m not home. I drink a lot of beer. I know what 40 oz look like. I have a 24oz thermos. Eye balling it. Closer to 24 oz. I just poured the 24 oz thermos into this 30 oz. Filled to the brim. Maybe the thermos holds more than listed or I was not suppose to fill it all the way up.
The pot I saw advertised had its top bar that you would hang it from oriented in such a way that when it is closed to the side of the pot, it can close on both of the handles to keep them from swinging around. Instead, I received a pot oriented perpendicular to that, where when I ‘close’ the hanging rung it only covers one of the two handles, and the other swings freely at all times. Going back to look at your website, a single image in the several advertised showed the pot rung oriented the way I received it; the rest showed it oriented the way I wished it had come. I would appreciate it if there was any warning about this inconsistency, as these small quality of life things would make up for the one annoying thing about the pot, being the loose floppy handles.
I had no dislikes. You get what you pay for and this one is quality for ultra lite hiking/camping. I boiled three cups with this and a windless Soto stove in a little over 2 minutes at 800 ft sea level. It will take longer the higher the sea level I go. More reviews as I use it more.
This cup/pot weighs only one ounce more than my 20 oz aluminum cup. With the lid, It will boil 34 oz of water on my isobutane stove in about seven minutes (at sea level). This allows me to boil enough water at one time to make a large cup of coffee and a freeze dried meal. It’s a great rime saver. The lid really helps.
Purchased pot on the gamble it would nest a svea 123r. It fits perfectly. No extra space at all. The rolled crimp on the bottom of the stove's fuel tank catches the lip of the pot. I invert the pot lid and ranger band it in place. No rattles at all. I couldn't ask for a better container for the stove. My only gripe is that the folding handles are floppy. On my Toaks pots they are snug and stay where you put them. On the Valtcan, they flop around. Not a big deal, but annoying.
This is a quality pot with a low profile lid and bail that nest well with my water bottle. It works well if just wanting to bowl sufficient water for two people.
I've been waiting for this one, If you comb through the markets of 900 ml cups, you'll find some with no bails, some very questionable handles which make getting purchase on the cup difficult and impractical, so yall have hit the nail on the head.

Shipping was fast. The lid doesn't fit snuggly. Carry bag could have made a little larger so a cozy would fit in it. Handles could lick open like a US canteen cup.
Great pot, well made. Only complaint is that the pale handle is attached too the pot where you drink from. The smaller 750ml doesn’t have this issue so it looks like I’ll be getting one of those as well. Not cheap, but then you paying for a super light great product that is of a high quality. Very pleased with my purchase.
