Buy It Once

The Last Cup You Will Ever Need to Buy

You know the cycle: the ceramic mug that chips in the shop sink, the painted camp cup that flakes into your coffee, the enamel one that rusts where it dinged. This one ends that. It is a single piece of Grade 1 titanium, the same commercially pure metal used in surgical implants. It does not chip, rust, flake, or wear out. Drop it on concrete, boil it over open flame, run it through the dishwasher. It just takes the mark and keeps working, the way a good tool should.

The Material Argument

Two Ounces of Metal That Outlasts Everything

Grade 1 titanium melts at 3,034 degrees F. Your campfire tops out around 1,600. That is why this cup goes directly over flame while your insulated steel tumbler stays in the truck. And because titanium is biologically inert, it never adds a metallic taste to coffee, tea, or anything acidic. Your coffee tastes like coffee, on trip one and on trip five hundred.

Cup weight
2 oz

Lighter than a deck of cards. 2.5 oz with the lid on.

Capacity
450ml

15.2 fl oz. Holds a full large coffee or a meal's worth of boiling water.

Melting point
3,034°F

Direct flame is a normal Tuesday for this metal.

Note: this is a single-wall cup, not an insulated tumbler. It heats over flame precisely because there is only one wall, and that same wall means hot drinks cool faster than in a vacuum mug. That is the trade that makes it a cookpot and a mug at once.

In the Shop

Built Like the Tools You Respect

Riveted bracket, folding wire handle, no welds waiting to let go. The handle folds flat so it packs like a tin, then locks out solid enough to lift a full cup of boiling water. Sawdust, metal shavings, drops off the bench: none of it matters. Rinse it and pour the next one.

At the Desk

One Object, Zero Clutter

No branding shouting at you, no plastic lid to lose, no chipped rim by March. A matte titanium cup develops a quiet patina that reads more like a watch than a mug. It is the same cup at the desk on Tuesday and above the treeline on Saturday, which is exactly the point.

The Capability

Boil in the Same Cup You Drink From

Set it on campfire coals, a gas stove, or an alcohol burner and boil water right in the cup. Coffee, tea, ramen, a freeze-dried meal: no separate kettle, no extra pot to carry or clean. The tight-fitting titanium lid speeds the boil and keeps ash out, and the whole kit nests inside every larger Valtcan pot, so it rides along at no cost in pack space.

Failure Analysis

Every Camp Cup Fails Somewhere. Find the Failure Mode.

Ceramic chips. Enamel rusts. Stainless tastes like pennies and weighs triple. Plastic melts the first time you get ambitious near a fire. Each failure below was removed at the design stage, not patched later.

Component What usually fails This cup
Body Ceramic chips, enamel rusts at every ding, plastic warps near heat Solid Grade 1 titanium, no coating to fail, flame-safe
Handle Welded handles crack, plastic grips melt over flame Folding wire handle on a riveted titanium bracket
Lid Plastic lids warp, crack, and go missing Flat titanium lid with fold-flat wire lift tab, included
Taste Stainless and aluminum add a metallic edge to acidic drinks Biologically inert metal, zero flavor transfer

How It Works

Hot Coffee in 3 Steps

1

Fill

Water straight in the cup. No separate kettle or pot needed.

2

Heat

Set it on coals, stove, or burner with the lid on. The lid traps heat and keeps debris out.

3

Drink

Lift the lid by its tab, add grounds or a tea bag, and drink from the same cup you cooked in.

Before you order: This is a single-wall cup. After boiling, give the rim a minute before you drink, and use a glove or the folded handle to move it off the fire. The current production run does not have interior measurement markings, so measure water before pouring if your recipe needs precision.

FAQ

Questions, Answered Straight

Can I really put it directly in a campfire?
Yes. Titanium melts at 3,034 degrees F, roughly double what a campfire produces. Set it on coals or a grate, boil, and lift it off by the handle with a gloved hand. The metal will develop heat coloring over time. Most owners consider that the best part.
Will my coffee taste metallic?
No. Grade 1 titanium is biologically inert, the same material used in surgical implants. It does not react with coffee acids, tea tannins, or citrus. No metallic smell, no flavor transfer.
Does it have measurement markings inside?
The current production run does not have interior graduation marks. If you portion water for pour-overs or dehydrated meals, measure before you pour. Marked interiors are planned for a future batch.
Does it keep drinks hot like a vacuum tumbler?
No, and that is by design. A single titanium wall is what lets it go over flame and weigh 2 oz. If you want hours of heat retention, you want an insulated tumbler. If you want one cup that boils, brews, and packs at no weight, you want this.
Will the handle burn me after heating?
The wire handle sits outside the flame path and sheds heat quickly, but treat anything that just left a fire with respect. Give it a moment or use a glove. The lid tab folds up so you can lift the lid without touching hot metal.
Does it fit in my cook system?
It nests inside every larger Valtcan titanium pot, including the 900ml pot, which makes a complete solo cook system with zero wasted space. A mesh carry bag is included.
How do I clean it?
It is dishwasher safe and stain resistant. For scorched-on food after fire cooking, soak and scrub with anything you like. There is no coating to protect, so steel wool is fair game.

Customer photo review of VALTCAN Titanium Camping Cup with Lid 450ml

I love this cup! It's a little hot on the lips with freshly boiled water. But when the tea is that hot you're only taking little sips anyway. So it's no big deal. Lid fits is a little loose, if you need it tighter for whatever reason, it's nothing a chunk of heavy duty tinfoil can't fix. Once tinfoil is on you can lift the empty cup up by the lid. As you can see in my picture. I'm super happy with it and will definitely buy more items from this company.

Excellently made

Great but can’t submit review without having to write a paragraph

Got one for me and my son. We use it all the time. Love it. The cover really seals the deal.

Very good

Just received my cup and it has no capacity markings. They are clearly visible in the product photos and in the description.

Good quality, super light. Going to use this to replace my cooking set. It would be nice if it was a little larger. But still 5/5

Great gift for camping enthusiasts

A perfect cup!

very cool titanium gear, can’t wait to use them

Great utility paired with great materials.

This is great for backpacking. Super light and the lid is super useful.

Love this titanium cup.

Looks good.

Nice and lite

Nice mug I got this to use around the house. Might take it backpacking in warm weather.

I bought this for ultralight hiking for use with my modified fancy feast alcohol stove/burner. Its a great little cup. I bought a set of Hot Lips so I could drink coffee. The flame from the burner will extend beyond the bottom of the cup unless you fit the windscreen tightly around the cup/burner. Be sure your windscreen has enough holes in the bottom for fresh air to get to the stove. The included Mesh bag is perfect to hold the entire kit. You can see in the photos I was able to put my stove/burner (make sure it has NO water in the cup first), my Bic, emergency wet-fire tinder, Hotlips and ground shield in the cup. Put the lid on then wrap the windscreen around the entire thing. The entire set up weighs in a 5.35 oz as shown in my pictures.

Love this cup, it's the perfect size and I like the lid for camping. I will carry the extra 10th of an oz for the lid because it allows me to keep stuff in the cup protected and cook with it if I choose. Very well made and strong.

I love this cup. The lid fits nicely. It's convenient for a cup of coffee on the trail.

Quality item, Great price for high quality product.

Comes with a little meah sack. The lid does not snap on, just sits there which I guess is good to not build pressure during a boil. Need a cosy (make your own) or hot beverages cool fast in cold temps due to material thermal conductivity.

This cup is exactly what I was looking for. It fits a small alcohol (cat stove) stove, fuel and lighter. With an aeropress I'm go to go! Super lightweight; 450ml with lid and mesh bag. Ultimate lightweight cooking setup.

Perfect small cup. Cheaper than name brand. Nice to have a lid. Washed it with warm soapy water before using. Tasted a little funny with tea in it, so I cleaned it again and then placed it on my stove (empty) and let it get hot for a few minutes. Haven't had an issue with taste since. Nice little titanium cup. 1L smart water bottle fits in it a little loose. Camelback 750mlChute bottle fits perfect in it.

This cup is the perfect size for me and the lid fits snugly. It feels strong and durable, yet light-perfect for the backpack. I wrap it in a insulated bubble wrap cozy I made and with the lid on between sips, it keeps my coffee nice and hot. I love it. I bought two because the price was so good.
