Why Titanium

Machined Metal Where Other Pens Use Plastic and Plating

Most pens fail at the plastic click, the plated clip, or the finish that wears through at the grip. This one is titanium from nose to cap. The mechanism is a bolt action: slide the knurled knob forward, drop it into the locking notch, and the tip stays out until you release it. There is no plating on it anywhere, so there is nothing to flake off. Scratches from daily carry polish into the metal rather than through a coating.

How the Bolt Works

Slide

Push the knurled knob forward along its slot to extend the tip.

Lock

Nudge the knob sideways into the notch. The tip stays put under writing pressure.

Release

Nudge it out of the notch and the spring returns the tip into the barrel before it goes back in a pocket.

Before you order: this is a ballpoint, not a fountain pen. The polished finish is bright and will show fingerprints and light pocket marks over time; a cloth restores it. At 44 g it is noticeably heavier than a plastic pen. And after long storage the internal spring can settle so the refill rattles slightly when shaken: unscrew the nose, stretch the spring a little, and reassemble. That is the whole fix.

How heavy is it, and how big?
44 grams (1.55 oz), 5.5 inches (14 cm) long, 0.46 inches (11.7 mm) across the barrel. It has presence in the hand. If you want featherweight, this is not that pen.
Will the polished finish scratch?
Yes, fine hairlines over time, like any polished metal carried daily. Because it is solid titanium rather than plating, those marks are in the metal, not through a coating, and nothing flakes or peels. Keep it in the included leather pouch or a pocket away from keys if you want the shine to stay mirror bright.
What refills fit?

The refill rattles when I shake it. Is it broken?
No. After long storage or heavy use the spring can compress slightly. Unscrew the nose, pull the spring out, stretch it a little longer, and put it back. The rattle is gone.
Can I take it apart?
Yes, completely and by hand. The nose unscrews to change the refill, and the rest of the pen comes apart for cleaning or adjusting the clip. No glue, no special tools.
